How to add a line break on LinkedIn

Write the post on the left with one idea per line and blank lines between paragraphs. Copy the version on the right and paste it into LinkedIn. Each empty line holds an invisible character so LinkedIn keeps it.

In LinkedIn messages, pressing Enter may send the message, depending on your settings. Shift + Enter adds a new line. You can also write the message here, copy it, and paste it in with the spacing intact.

Why does LinkedIn remove my spacing?

LinkedIn trims trailing spaces and can drop extra empty lines, especially in text pasted from other apps. Filling each empty line with an invisible character keeps the layout.

What is the invisible character?

It is the Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800). It looks like an empty space, but apps do not treat it as whitespace, so they keep the line it sits on instead of deleting it.

Does the invisible character count toward the limit?

Yes. Each empty line adds one character, which is why the counter shows the length of the spaced version rather than your original text.
